Race day dawned very foggy over most of the Bay Area. By race time the sun was just peeping through a hazy overcast - great racing weather. The 5K saw several excellent times. By the time 20:00 ticked away, five people had crossed the finish - three of them Masters. Ben Fields had a quick 17:50 for 1st o/a, while his father, Lou Fields, clocked a nice 26:34 (age 75). The 15K field was populated almost entirely by age 50-plus entrants. The dog days of summer warm old joints before a quick 5K, but now is the time to take advantage of the cool weather to get the long race in the Total Time com- petition out of the way. With age comes wisdom. (Also, you'll be 11 months older next December.)
